eye carving

I am now carving the eye sockets so that I can put resin eyes in it. Richard Arm the technician wonderment was kind enough to show me how to do it.

my head is born!

As you can see, there is alot of silicone around the face, this is because I left the silicone to set face down, so the face would have no naked areas.

flexi foam madness

After I had poured 1000 grams of silicone into my mold, I slushed it around so that all the surfaces were evenly covered with silicone. I then mixed up some flexi foam and poured it in, it went crazy and spewed out the mold like fizzed coke!

More Headdage

Here I am clamping shut my fibre glass jacket, ready to fill it with my silicone. I used clamps at first, but they fell off! Think its because of the uneven shape of the jacket. So I threaded cable grips into the holes I had made in the fibre glass jacket and clamped it tight.

Silicone 10T head

I have started my 2nd year of fine art, and to start the year I have decided to acquire some special effects skills. I bought some 10T silicone, flexi-foam III, and some tolulene from Bentley to make it with. Here I am taking off the silicone jacket.

Flyer for Phlebas

Here is a flyer I designed for Rufio Symes, he is going to use it for his night event Phlebas, although we shall see if he actually uses it or whether he was just saying he would to trick me into drawing it....

Recent Unleashments

Here are two of my most recent paintings, Sophia Elle and Joe black. I used biro and watercolour to create these beauties. I had been having the same reacurring dream about Joe Black creeping towards me singing "oops I did it again" without moving his mouth. So I thought I would give him a taste of his own medicine by making this painting scared of me.

When I was in Liverpool last, I met Sophia and she was a vision of beauty, immaculate and fabulous, my new favorite burlesque superstar.

Foxy and his gold gnashers

As you can see, I have extracted all the rancid meat off of poor foxy, and sprayed his teeth gold, I used Montana in gold chrome. It worked really well, when spraying, I covered the bone around the teeth with tape so I didn't make a mess. He still smells a bit but at least he looks rad.

Dr.Sketchy

On Saturday I went with my friend Holly to check out Dr.Sketchy's anti art school, which is a life drawing class with fabulous burlesque models. It is run by Charlotte Thompson and Scarlett Daggers, I had an amazing time and highly recommend it, the next one is in October. I cannot remember the name of this model but I loved her hair!

Tattoo design for Tommy P

A sketch for Tommy's tattoo design, I need to add text and ensure that the globe is perfectly spherical, but it's a good start. Going to add text but need a manly way of displaying it.

The surgical delights of ORLAN

ORLAN is one of those delicious people that has evolved themselves into a new state of optical superiorness. I've just bought her new book,' ORLAN, A hybrid body of artworks.' She takes the phrase 'body of work' quite literally. After looking at her website it made me realize how boring my hair and face is. Hopefully I shall get to see some of her work live, or I could just hold my new book real close to my face so it looks like i'm there. I'll make a review of the book once I've had a gander.

Alexander the great lives on...

Whilst I was waiting for the bus home, I was flicking through magazines to kill time, and I noticed this ad by Dsquared, it reminded me of McQueen's 2001 spring/summer collection because of the encasing of the models and the coldness of the atmosphere. Suppose putting things in glass cases could link back to ol' Damien Hirst, then from him to Francis Bacon...

Trip to Bristol, Art of The New World

I was lucky enough to have my parents drive me and my finacee to Bristol, because I just could not miss this spectacle, the 2 hour drive was worth it, the room was filled with amazing talent, and I finally got to see a piece of Mark Ryden work live!! I examined every paint stroke and did a sketch of the piece. Above is Liz McGrath with her sparkly cerberus and AJ Fossik with his delicious mad wolf beast.

Polly Morgan

Polly is exhibiting her work at this address..
6 Burlington Gardens
London W1S 3ET
United Kingdom
her work has a delicious macabre look, mixing fine taxidermy skills with other objects.

Painting for the kingdom

Here is a preview of the painting I am doing for mine and Kirsty's flat, it's getting there, but alot more detail needs to go in, it is painted in acrylics, which is fun to use apart from the fact that they dry up so fast!

Dave McKean is a lovely chap

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave when he did a talk at Loughborough uni when I was studying there for my foundation course, he really inspired me to experiment with scanners and jam. afterwards he was kind enough to withstand me rambling at him about how awesome I think he is and he even drew my portrait! I give him 10/10, also another thing to catch if you havent seen it is Dave McKean's MirrorMask, amazing film.

Mark Ryden

I have been intensely interested in Mark's work since I saw the album cover he did for Jack off Jill, 'Clear hearts and Grey flowers'. Earlier this year, I was in Camden market when I came across a stall, spotting an actual Mark Ryden ring with pictures of the 'Meat train' on it! obviously I purchased it, as you can see above.

My Boy

Here is a watercolour I created of my love Tom Pykett, he INSISTED i gave him pupils and irises this time as he doesn't like it when I paint him without them as he feels it makes him look soulless.

Trip to White Cube

Myself and my friends Kirsty Bouri and Helen Hulbert went down to London to attend the Bizarre Ball2010 (which was amazing and full of creative wonderments such as Joe Black) but before we went down to Hoxton to visit my favorite gallery, White Cube. Marc Quinn was exhibiting his new sculptures focusing on people who have undergone extreme levels of plastic surgery and transformations. We tried to take more pictures but the SQUARES at the gallery told us off, I managed to snap a few on my iphone.

                                                                   Red Red Robin
                                                                     -Lover's Eye 15
                                                                    -Lover's Eye 11
I saw Michael Hussar's work on Kat Von D's LA ink, and I have been in love ever since, here are some examples of his fine painting skills. I hope he Exhibits his work in England sometime soon.

Beginning

To begin, I shall start at the beginning, a very good place to start, well here is two of my own pieces of work, Helen and Tom, you decide which is which.
